Kibow Biotech, Inc. develops groundbreaking methods of using probiotics (beneficial bacteria) to bring hope to kidney failure patients worldwide. With our scientifically formulated dietary supplements, we also address metabolic syndrome patients who are at an elevated long-term risk of developing chronic kidney failure (CKF).

Mission
We are committed to sustainable living through innovative life science research and technologies, with the ultimate goal of reducing the suffering associated with end-stage renal disease.

"Kibow" means hope
It is a coincidence, but a meaningful coincidence, that in Japanese, Kibow means hope. Kibow certainly strives to bring hope to millions of uremic and metabolic syndrome patients throughout the world. Our name originates from Kibow's application of enteric dialysis, the technique of substituting part of the kidney's function, as in "Ki", with the bowel function, as in "bow".

Pioneering breakthrough products
Founded in 1997 by Dr. N. Ranganathan and Dr. Jack Dickstein, Kibow develops new technology and pioneers products to provide symptomatic relief for chronic kidney failure (CKF), and which may help slow progression of the disease.

Kibow Biotics® After years of research, Kibow Biotech, Inc. has developed Kibow Biotics®, a patented proprietary probiotic which is the basis of the company's gut-based uremia toxin removal technology trade-named "enteric dialysis".

According to members of a National Institute of Health study, Kibow's patented dietary supplement, "offers hope of delaying the need for dialysis by decreasing the uremic toxins." (NIH reviewers critique on our SBIR grant award in 2003)
AzodylTM A veterinary formulation for kidney failure companion animals was introduced in 2005. Kibow is now conducting limited pharmaceutical-like clinical trial on a similar cost-effective, non-invasive probiotic formulation for human kidney failure patients.

Kibow FloraTM a multiple probiotic formulation to be taken as a daily supplement, helps maintain healthy gut flora and helps support the immune system. Applications include helping to maintain healthy intestinal flora in the elderly.

Complementary products In addition, Kibow offers a range of fine quality dietary supplements intended for patients suffering from metabolic syndrome, a frequent precursor to atherosclerotic cardiovascular conditions, and strongly associated with an elevated risk of developing CKD.

The immediate future
As our veterinary sales continue to develop worldwide, and as our dietary supplement line gain market recognition, pilot scale clinical trials for Kibow Biotics® for uremic syndrome have begun in the US, Canada, Mexico, Argentina and Nigeria. Kibow is now actively seeking partners to help accelerate the company’s growth.
